William Harris IV, DPM

Dr. William Harris IV, a native of Lancaster, SC, is double board certified in foot surgery and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery. Dr. Harris is also a co-founder of the International Limb Salvage Foundation, whose mission is to advance the knowledge and training of foot and ankle care providers in underserved and underrepresented countries to comprehensively treat citizens with diabetic foot disease. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC. He then went on to graduate from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and subsequently completed an extensive four-year foot and ankle surgical residency specializing in trauma and reconstructive surgery at the University of Pennsylvania – Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Harris has several publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and has co-authored chapters in Heel Surgery and Orthobiologics in McGlamrys textbook of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He also serves as a peer-reviewer for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Harris is a past-president of the South Carolina Podiatric Medical Association and currently serves on the South Carolina Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners.
